Is Skype now Lync?
Lync was renamed Skype for Business in April 2015. Along with a new name came some new features and a fresh new look.
Why is Skype ending?
Skype is Gone With The Bell. The move away from Skype in favor of Teams has been expected for some time. Microsoft had made it clear that their long-term plans were to phase out Skype and focus on making Teams the main communication platform for their users.
