How do I study for the stamp test?

- Use the sample Writing item to practice keyboarding special characters you may need to use.
- Use the sample Speaking item to ensure that your microphone is working properly.
- Do not spend much time crafting answers to sample questions as they do not contribute to your final score.
What is the stamp test?
The STAMP (Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency) test is an online assessment of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a variety of languages. The test is not timed, but typically takes about 2-3 hours.
What is the avant test?
The Avant Story Avant assesses real-world proficiency by pairing innovative computer adaptive and artificial intelligence technologies with human scoring. Avant’s assessments all align with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency Scale.
What are examples of proficiency test?
IELTS and TOEFL are examples of proficiency tests. Proficiency tests often have a significant backwash effect on the classroom, as learners’ focus narrows to preparing the test items. One way to make practice for exams more meaningful is by asking learners to prepare their own practice questions for the group.
How long is stamp test?
On average, students take around 120 minutes to fully complete the assessment. Test-takers are not allowed to use pencils and paper during testing. The STAMP test is designed to enable students to show what they can do with their language in an unrehearsed and spontaneous way in a real world context.
How are stamp tests graded?
Scoring is done using Benchmark Levels, which are grouped by major levels (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced). Within each major level are three sub-levels that are aligned to ACTFL’s low, mid, and high designations. The Benchmark Levels are 1-9 for Reading and Listening and 1-8 for Writing and Speaking.
How long does it take to get stamp test results?
5 to 7 business days
RESULTS. Reading and Listening scores are available as soon as test takers complete those sections (refresh the page for updates). Writing and Speaking scores are typically available in 5 to 7 business days. They may be available sooner, so check the test results screen periodically to determine the grading progress.
How is the avant test scored?
Scoring is done using Benchmark Levels 1-9 for Reading and Listening and Benchmark Levels 1-8 for Writing and Speaking. The levels are associated with Benchmark Categories of Novice, Intermediate and Advanced as shown in the Level Keys below.

Accepted by the Global Seal of Biliteracy Functional Fluency Requirements: Avant Score of 5 or higher. Working Fluency Requirements: Avant Score of 7 or higher.
